  • 8 thick slices Challah or Brioche bread
  • 8 tbsp cream cheese
  • 8-12 strawberries sliced
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 4 tbsp butter for frying
  • Honey or maple syrup for serving

  • Whisk and shallow dish

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Spread cream cheese on the bread slices. Layer strawberries on 4 slices and close with the remaining slices to make sandwiches.
  2. Whisk the eggs, sugar, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon in a bowl.
  3. Dip each sandwich into the mixture, ensuring it is soaked but not falling apart.
  4. Melt the butter in a pan and fry the sandwiches for 3-4 minutes per side until golden.
  5. Transfer to a 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) oven and bake for 5 minutes.
  6. Serve hot drizzled with honey.
