These sticky buns are the ultimate brunch treat. Unlike standard rolls, these are baked on top of a layer of caramel and pecans, then flipped over so the sticky, gooey sauce coats the top.

Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • Dough: 2.25 tsp yeast 1/2 cup milk, 1 stick butter, 1 egg, 3.5 cups flour, sugar, salt
  • Caramel: 1 cup brown sugar 1 stick butter, 1/2 cup heavy cream, vanilla
  • Filling: 1 stick butter 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1 tbsp cinnamon, 1 cup pecans
  • Icing: 1 cup confectioners’ sugar 1 tbsp milk

Equipment

  • 9×9 inch baking pan
  • Rolling Pin
  • Mixer (dough hook)

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Make yeast dough and let it rise for 1 hour.
  2. Make caramel sauce and pour it into the bottom of a 9×9 inch pan.
  3. Roll out dough, spread with cinnamon filling, roll up, and slice into 9 buns.
  4. Place buns into the caramel in the pan. Bake at 350 degrees F (180 degrees C) for 25-30 mins.
  5. Invert immediately onto a serving platter so the caramel doesn’t stick.
