Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • Cake: 9 tbsp butter 1.25 cups sugar, 2 eggs, 2 tsp red food coloring, 2 cups self-rising flour, 4 tbsp cocoa, 1 cup buttermilk, 1 tsp apple cider vinegar, 1 tsp baking soda
  • Frosting: 1/4 cup cream cheese 3.5 tbsp butter, 1.75 cups confectioners’ sugar

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Cream butter/sugar, add eggs and coloring.
  2. Add flour/cocoa and buttermilk alternately.
  3. Mix vinegar and soda (it will fizz) and fold quickly into batter.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees F (180 degrees C) for 22-25 mins. Cool.
  5. Whip frosting and pipe onto cupcakes.
