Crispy Air Fryer Cauliflower Popcorn

Crispy on the outside and tender inside, these savory bites transform ordinary vegetables into a highly snackable treat. A quick toss in olive oil, garlic powder, and turmeric gives the florets a warm flavor and a beautiful golden color. The air fryer's high heat creates browned edges that mimic the satisfying crunch of real popcorn. You'll finish the hot florets with a dusting of grated Parmesan cheese for a salty kick. They're guaranteed to be a hit for your next movie night or as a quick afternoon snack.

Equipment

  • Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 8 cups small cauliflower florets (about 1¼ pounds)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat the air fryer to 390°F.
  2. 2Coat the cauliflower florets evenly with the olive oil, garlic powder, turmeric, and salt. Transfer the seasoned vegetables to the air fryer basket in a single layer. Overcrowding prevents them from getting crispy. Cook for 15 minutes until they are tender with browned edges, making sure to shake the basket twice during the cooking time.
  3. 3Remove the hot cauliflower from the basket and immediately sprinkle with the grated Parmesan cheese so it melts slightly.

Notes

  • Storage: Keep leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat: Pop them back in the air fryer at 350°F for 3 to 4 minutes to restore their crunch.
  • Variation: Swap the Parmesan for nutritional yeast to make this a dairy-free or vegan snack.
