- Shred cabbage very fine (discard core).
- Sauté onion in oil until deep gold. Add garlic.
- Add cabbage, toss to coat and wilt.
- Add salt, pepper, vinegar.
- Cover tightly. Cook on minimum heat for 1.5 hours.
- Add a splash of water only if absolutely needed.
