Thick tomato slices breaded and fried quickly to keep the inside juicy and the outside crisp.

Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 2 to 3 fresh, very firm round tomatoes
  • 1 egg
  • Flour
  • Bread crumbs
  • Vegetable oil
  • Salt

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Slice tomatoes horizontally (1/2 inch thick). Remove seeds gently.
  2. Dredge in flour.
  3. Dip in beaten egg.
  4. Coat in bread crumbs.
  5. Fry in 1 inch hot oil until dark golden crust forms.
  6. Salt and serve piping hot.
