Big Batch Boulevardier Cocktails

A staple of classic cocktail menus, the Boulevardier swaps the traditional gin of a Negroni for the rich warmth of bourbon. When you're hosting a crowd, mixing a large batch ahead of time takes the stress right out of entertaining. You can prep and bottle this blend of sweet vermouth, bitter Campari, and smooth bourbon up to two weeks before your gathering. It's a perfectly balanced drink that lets you actually enjoy your own party.

Ingredients

  • 2¼ cups (18 oz.) bourbon
  • 1½ cups (12 oz.) sweet vermouth
  • 1½ cups (12 oz.) Campari
  • ½ cup (4 oz.) water

Instructions

  1. 1Mix the bourbon, sweet vermouth, Campari, and water in a large pitcher. The water mimics the dilution you'd normally get from stirring a single drink with ice.
  2. 2Pour the liquid into two 750-milliliter bottles. Seal them tightly and refrigerate until you're ready to serve.
  3. 3Pour four ounces of the chilled cocktail over ice into short glasses. Garnish each drink with a fresh rosemary sprig and a clementine slice.

Notes

  • Make ahead: You can prepare and bottle the cocktail mixture up to two weeks before your gathering.
  • Tip: Chill your serving glasses in the freezer for 30 minutes beforehand to keep the drinks colder longer.
