A traditional Romagna pastry ring, perfect for dipping in sweet wine or coffee.

Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 stick butter
  • 4 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • Cream of Tartar + Baking Soda (or Baking Powder)
  • Lemon peel, Milk
  • 2 eggs (1 for wash)

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Melt butter.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, leavening, peel, milk, butter, and eggs.
  3. Knead briefly.
  4. Shape into 2-inch thick roll, form a ring.
  5. Brush with egg yolk, score top.
  6. Bake at 375°F for 35 mins.
  7. Cool on rack.
