1 stick butter
4 cups flour
3/4 cup sugar
Cream of Tartar + Baking Soda (or Baking Powder)
Lemon peel, Milk
2 eggs (1 for wash)
Method
Instructions
Melt butter.
Mix flour, sugar, leavening, peel, milk, butter, and eggs.
Knead briefly.
Shape into 2-inch thick roll, form a ring.
Brush with egg yolk, score top.
Bake at 375°F for 35 mins.
Cool on rack.
