Ingredients
2 slices bread, toasted
3 t. butter, softened and divided
1 egg
1 slice American cheese
salt to taste
3 to 4 thin slices cooked deli ham
Instructions
1Coat each slice of toasted bread with one teaspoon of softened butter and set them aside. Warm the remaining butter in a skillet over medium-low heat until melted.
2Crack the egg directly into the skillet, choosing to either break the yolk with a fork or leave it intact. Cook until the egg is mostly firm, then flip it carefully with a spatula. Sprinkle with salt, place the American cheese slice on top, and transfer the egg to a plate.
3Place the sliced deli ham into the warm skillet and heat it through on both sides. Stack the cooked egg and melted cheese over the warm ham, then place the entire stack between the prepared toast slices to build the sandwich.
