A hearty meat sauce comes together fast for a satisfying weeknight dinner. Ground beef and diced onions build a savory base, while tomato sauce and paste create a rich, thick texture. Dried basil and oregano add classic Italian-inspired flavor to the mix. The sauce simmers gently while the pasta boils, making it easy to get food on the table without a fuss. Serve it hot over freshly drained spaghetti for a comforting meal.

Ingredients
7-oz. pkg. spaghetti, uncooked
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. onion, diced
salt and pepper to taste
2 8-oz. cans tomato sauce
6-oz. can tomato paste
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 to 3 T. dried basil
1 to 2 t. dried oregano
Instructions
1Boil the spaghetti following the instructions on the package, then drain the water. Place a skillet over medium heat to brown the ground beef and diced onion, draining off any excess fat once cooked.
2Season the meat mixture with salt and pepper to your liking. Stir in the tomato sauce, tomato paste, minced garlic, dried basil, and dried oregano. Pour in a splash of water if the mixture seems too thick, then turn the heat down to low.
3Let the sauce simmer for 20 to 30 minutes, giving it a stir every so often. Spoon the hot meat sauce directly over the cooked spaghetti to serve.
