Sweet, floral, and incredibly refreshing, this homemade syrup transforms ordinary drinks into something special. You'll only need three simple ingredients and a few minutes on the stove to create a versatile base for your favorite beverages. Ingredients

  • 450g granulated sugar
  • 225ml water
  • 100ml rose water

Instructions

  1. 1Combine the granulated sugar and water in a heavy saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring constantly so the sugar completely dissolves without burning.
  2. 2Lower the heat and simmer the syrup for 5 minutes. Pour in the rose water and continue simmering for another 4 to 5 minutes.
  3. 3Let the liquid cool completely in the pan. Strain it through a fine sieve into a clean glass bottle or jar.

Notes

  • Storage: Keep the finished cordial in a sterilized bottle in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 weeks.
  • Serving: To make a quick drink, pour 2 to 3 tablespoons of the syrup over ice and top with cold water or sparkling water.
  • Cocktails: Add a splash of this syrup to a gin and tonic or vodka soda for a sweet, floral twist.
