Slow-Cooker Cajun Turkey Breast

Melted butter and zesty Cajun spices sink deep into this boneless turkey breast as it gently cooks all day. You'll get incredibly tender, juicy slices without turning on the oven or babysitting a roasting pan. It's a brilliant shortcut for a scaled-down holiday dinner, but it's easy enough to pull off on a random Tuesday. Don't let those savory drippings go to waste at the end, as they'll whisk into a rich, flavorful gravy in minutes.

Ingredients

  • 4-lb. boneless turkey breast
  • 2 to 4 T. butter, sliced
  • Cajun seasoning or seasoned salt to taste

Instructions

  1. 1Set the boneless turkey breast inside a slow cooker with the skin facing up. Distribute the sliced butter evenly across the top of the meat, rubbing it in slightly. Season the entire surface generously with Cajun seasoning or seasoned salt.
  2. 2Secure the lid and cook on the low setting for 6 to 8 hours until the meat is completely cooked through and no longer pink inside.
  3. 3Transfer the turkey to a serving platter and let it rest for 10 minutes before carving. The juices need time to redistribute for a juicier slice.

Notes

  • Gravy: Whisk the savory juices left in the slow cooker with a little cornstarch slurry to thicken into a quick homemade gravy.
  • Storage: Keep leftover turkey in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
  • Swap: If you don't have Cajun seasoning, a blend of smoked paprika, garlic powder, and seasoned salt works beautifully.
