It combines rolled oats, spelt, and barley flakes for a bowl that's far more satisfying and chewy than standard oatmeal. Ingredients

  • 300g oatmeal
  • 300g spelt flakes
  • 300g barley flakes

Instructions

  1. 1Combine the oatmeal, spelt flakes, and barley flakes in a large bowl or storage container. Stir well to distribute the grains evenly.
  2. 2To make a single serving, combine 50g of the porridge mixture in a saucepan with 300ml of milk or water.
  3. 3Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the grains are tender and the liquid is absorbed. Stirring frequently prevents the grains from sticking to the bottom of the pan.

Notes

  • Storage: Keep the dry grain mixture in an airtight container in the pantry for up to 6 months.
  • Serving: Top your cooked bowl with a drizzle of agave nectar and fresh sliced strawberries.
  • Swap: You can use any dairy or plant-based milk, or simply water, to cook the grains.
