- Fry chopped bacon in a heavy pot until fat renders. Remove bacon.
- Layer beans (with their liquid), onion, garlic, and cooked bacon in the pot.
- Whisk molasses, vinegar, and spices together; pour over the beans.
- Bake uncovered at 325 degrees F (160 degrees C) for 2.5 hours until thick and sticky.
- Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
