- Soak steaks in seasoned milk mix. Dredge in flour, back in milk, then flour again.
- Fry in hot oil until golden brown and crispy. Remove steaks.
- Make gravy: Whisk 1/4 cup flour into the pan drippings, cook briefly, then whisk in milk until thick. Season heavily with pepper.
- Prepare home fries by frying potatoes with bacon and onion.
