Pan-Fried Beef Braciole Filled with Cheese and Ham

Pairs of very thin beef slices sandwich a filling of fontina cheese and prosciutto. Breaded and fried until crisp and melting.

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound braciole steaks (round), sliced vanishingly thin
  • 4 slices fontina cheese
  • 4 slices prosciutto or ham
  • 1 egg
  • Whole nutmeg
  • Flour
  • Bread crumbs
  • Vegetable oil

Method
 

Instructions
  1. Pair beef slices. Sandwich cheese and ham between them.
  2. Beat egg with salt and nutmeg.
  3. Coat sandwiches in Flour -> Egg -> Bread crumbs.
  4. Fry in hot oil until brown on both sides.
  5. Drain and serve immediately.
